What is EDI 812?
An EDI 812 Credit/Debit Adjustment transactional set contains the formatting that communicates a need for a price adjustment or billback to the cost of a service or product between wholesalers, retailers, vendors, merchants, and suppliers. It identifies and contains detailed information and amounts covering exceptions, adjustments, credits, or debits for goods or services. This transaction set is multi-directional between a buying organization and its supplier base and allows for effortless adjustments on both sides of any transaction.
Using an EDI 812, both the buying organization and supplier can quickly communicate the need to alter the cost of a transaction due to the non-conformity of a particular product or service.
